Do not be bullied or fall for your insurance companies unethical tactics, where you are steered towards a repairer you do not know or trust. It's your car, you are the policy holder, it is your right to choose who repairs your car.
Regardless of your insurance company, if you are not at fault and trying to have your car assessed through the at fault parties insurance, you have complete control over who quotes, assesses and ultimately fixes your car.
Many people do not realise that some of the big players in the insurance industry have fixed-cost repair contracts in place with their preferred or recommended repairer. This puts your vehicle at risk of being repaired cheaply, in order to make the job profitable for the repairer.
