Are you a preferred repairer? The old “preferred” repairer myth busted.

We are not a preferred repairer, we are an independent accident repair centre with a good relationship with all insurance companies and assessment companies. Did you know that “preferred” or “recommended” repairers usually have agreements in place with insurance companies to provide repairs for a fixed cost, regardless of what it actually costs to repair your vehicle properly? This can mean some repairers feel the need to cut corners to make the job profitable, putting your safety and your vehicle’s resale value at risk.

Furthermore, “preferred” or “recommended” repairers typically are chosen by insurance companies and then told how to repair the vehicle - usually in the most cost-effective way for the insurance company. This can leave the customer and their vehicle worse off. Insurance companies may dictate to their 'preferred' or 'recommended' repairer to repair parts rather than replace them or use second-hand parts over new, or use after market, poor-fitting parts rather than genuine parts.

Over the years, insurance companies have made people believe they have no choice in where to take their car for repairs in an effort to control the cost for their investors. After all, they are multi-billion dollar corporations who have to answer to stakeholders.
At Precision Auto Group, we repair cars with the well-being of the customer and the vehicle in mind, not the insurance company’s pocket. We firmly believe in and support the customer’s right to choose their repairer. If your insurance company does not offer choice of repairer, we can recommend one that can.

Is your work guaranteed?

A.

Yes, we offer a lifetime warranty on our workmanship, providing the vehicle isn't damaged and repaired elsewhere after our repairs have taken place.

Do we offer loan cars?

A.

We have a number of accident replacement vehicles available on request. If you are involved in an accident which you aren’t at fault, we can provide a replacement vehicle for your convenience to get you back on the road. * Fees and charges will be recovered by the at fault party’s insurance company.

How long will it take to get a quote on my car?

A.

We'll usually take 15-30 minutes to assess the damage to your car. Your quote will follow within 24 hours. We do note that an initial estimate is just an initial estimate of the seen damage. In order to be complete, the vehicle will likely need to be stripped to gain access to unseen areas and your quote may change to reflect any discovered faults. If the damage is greater than your excess, or you'd like advice once we've seen the vehicle, one of our managers will be more than happy to assist in providing you with your options to move forward.

How long will my car be off the road ?

A.

The repair process can be influenced by a number of factors such as the availability of parts, how quickly the assessment can be organised by the relevant insurance company, how much or little damage there is to the vehicle, if there are any questions that need to be answered in relation to the claim itself, etc. We will keep you updated right from the start with any hold ups or delays in getting your vehicle back to you.

Will you clean my car ?

Every vehicle that leaves Precision Auto Group is thoroughly cleaned inside and out upon completion. If you would like further work done, such as a clay bar, cut and polish or wax, please do not hesitate to ask one of our managers and we will gladly assist.

Can you quote from photos?

A.

We can give a price guide and an initial estimate over photos. However, it is typically best to come in or we can organise the vehicle to be towed so that we can do the best job at estimating the damage. Unfortunately, sometimes photos don't show the full extent of the damage.

I need extra work done on my car, like window tinting or a new windscreen, can you help?

A.

Precision Auto Group can organise pretty much whatever you would like done. Need new tyres? We can help. Need the aircon re-gassed? We can help. Need that window tint stripped and new tint applied? We can help. If for some reason we can't help, we will help point you in the direction of someone who can.

What are your opening hours?

A.

Monday to Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm and Saturdays 8:00am – 1:00pm.

We are available for free accident advice and 24-hour towing on 8348 5880 all day everyday.
